Is the Level 4 CET right for me?
This course is ideal for anyone who has completed the level 3 course and is looking to expand on their knowledge and skills. The level 4 course will prepare trainee teachers to teach in a wide range of contexts.
You do not need to be currently teaching or in education training to complete this qualification, but you will be required to log at least 30 hours of teaching practice in a real classroom by the end of the qualification. Most candidates opt to wait until they are in a placement before starting the course. A full list of the minimum requirements is detailed below in the FAQ section.

CTLLS Online Training Course
This particular level was previously known as a CTLLS online training course (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector). If you have completed this level before, you will also be able to take our Level 5 course to further your knowledge.

UNIT NO 2
Planning to meet the needs of learners in education and training.
This unit focuses on understanding learners’ needs and how to plan inclusive learning experiences that cater to diverse learning styles, abilities and backgrounds.
UNIT NO 3
Delivering education and training.
This unit covers the practical aspects of delivering engaging and effective learning sessions, including communication skills, classroom management techniques and strategies for creating a positive learning environment.
UNIT NO 4
Assessing learners in education and training.
This unit addresses the principles and practices of assessment in education and training, including designing and using assessment tools, providing feedback and using assessment data to inform teaching and learning.
UNIT NO 5
Using resources for education and training.
This unit focuses on selecting, developing and using appropriate resources to support learning.
UNIT NO 6
Developing, using and organising resources in a specialist area.
This unit builds on Unit 5 by focusing on creating and managing resources specific to a particular subject area or specialisation, taking into account the unique requirements of that field.
Who is the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training course for?
This qualification is designed to sharpen your skills as a teacher or trainer. It builds upon much of the knowledge provided in the Level 3 Award in Education and Training. However, unlike the AET, the Level 4 Certificate requires learners to commit to at least 30 hours of teaching time in a classroom. The qualification is suitable for those who are in or are about to go into a teaching placement.
